To extend the service life of mineral wool tiles, the following maintenance measures are recommended:
Keep the environment dry and avoid moisture exposure.
Mineral wool tiles are highly absorbent; excessive humidity can easily cause the ceiling to warp or develop mold.
It is recommended to maintain indoor humidity between 40% and 60%; dehumidifiers or air conditioners can be used to lower humidity levels.
In humid areas (such as basements or spaces adjacent to bathrooms), use moisture-resistant coated mineral wool tiles to enhance moisture resistance.
Regularly inspect the condition of the mineral wool tiles.
Check for any loose or sagging tiles and repair or replace them promptly.
Ensure the grid structure (suspension system) is secure to prevent the tiles from warping due to inadequate support.
If tiles show signs of mold or severe staining, it is recommended to replace them promptly to avoid compromising the overall appearance and air quality.
Avoid impacts from hard objects to minimize damage
Mineral wool tiles are relatively brittle; avoid striking them with hard objects to prevent dents or breakage.
Do not scrub vigorously during cleaning to avoid damaging the surface structure.
Prevent discoloration and minimize sun exposure
Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the surface of mineral wool tiles to yellow or fade.
Avoid exposing the tile surface to UV lamps, and use blackout curtains to reduce direct sunlight.
