What Auxiliary Materials Are Required For A Mineral Wool Ceiling Installation?

Jun 04, 2026

The installation of mineral wool ceiling systems requires the following key auxiliary materials:

1. ‌Keel System‌: Includes main keels (typically light-gauge steel, 38mm or 50mm specifications), cross tees/secondary keels (T-shaped or U-shaped), suspension rods (φ6–φ8 galvanized threaded rods), and associated hangers.
- Main keel spacing is typically ≤1200mm; cross tee spacing is adjusted based on mineral wool board dimensions (e.g., 600mm × 600mm boards correspond to a 600mm center-to-center spacing).

2. ‌Connectors‌: Expansion bolts (M8–M10 for concrete ceilings), self-tapping screws (25–35mm length for keel fastening), and hangers (load-bearing capacity ≥50kg/m²).

3. ‌Sealing Materials‌: Fire-resistant sealant (for joint treatment) and moisture-proof pads (required for environments with humidity >70%).

4. ‌Edge Trim‌: L-shaped or T-shaped edge profiles (aluminum alloy, 20–30mm width).

5. ‌Others‌: Specialized adhesive for mineral wool boards (for localized reinforcement) and sound-absorbing cotton (installed if enhanced sound insulation is required).
