Process Flow:
Steel coil → Decoiling → Slitting → Roll forming → Punching/notching → Cutting → Pretreatment → Coating → Baking/curing → Cooling → Inspection → Packaging → Storage
1. Raw Material Preparation
Galvanized steel strip or cold-rolled steel strip is inspected for thickness, width, and surface quality. The coil is then loaded onto a decoiler.
2. Slitting
The steel coil is slit into the required widths for different keel profiles, such as main tee, cross tee, or wall angle.
3. Roll Forming
The slit strip passes through a series of roll forming machines and is gradually formed into the required T-shaped or U-shaped ceiling grid profile.
4. Punching and Notching
Holes, slots, and notches are punched or notched for hanging, connection, and installation.
5. Cutting
The formed keel is cut to fixed lengths by a flying shear or automatic cutting machine.
6. Surface Pretreatment
The keel surface is pretreated before painting:
Degreasing → Water rinsing → Phosphating → Water rinsing → Drying.
This improves paint adhesion and corrosion resistance.
7. Coating
The pretreated keel is coated by electrostatic spraying, roller coating, or dip coating. Polyester baking paint, epoxy paint, or other suitable coatings may be used.
8. Baking / Curing
The coated keel enters a curing oven. The typical baking temperature is about 180–220°C, and the curing time is usually 10–20 minutes, depending on the paint and production line speed. The paint film is cured and firmly bonded to the metal surface.
9. Cooling
The baked keel is cooled by air cooling or forced cooling.
10. Inspection
Finished products are inspected for dimensions, straightness, color, gloss, coating thickness, adhesion, and corrosion resistance.
11. Packaging and Storage
Qualified products are packed with shrink film, cartons, woven bags, or pallets and stored in a dry place.
