How To Clean Mineral Wool Ceiling Tiles

Jun 09, 2026

Mineral wool tiles are widely used for ceilings in office buildings, shopping malls, schools, and hospitals due to their sound-absorbing, fire-resistant, and thermal insulation properties. However, because their surface material is relatively porous, they are prone to accumulating dust, yellowing, and warping due to moisture; therefore, regular cleaning and maintenance are required to extend their lifespan and maintain their appearance.

Cleaning mineral wool ceiling tiles requires tools such as a soft-bristled brush, a vacuum cleaner, a cleaning agent, and a wiping cloth.

Dry Cleaning
Use a soft-bristled brush or a vacuum cleaner to clean the mineral wool ceiling tiles and remove surface dust and debris.

Wet Cleaning
First, clean the surface with a soft-bristled brush or vacuum cleaner, then wipe it using a clean cloth dampened with an appropriate amount of cleaning agent. Care must be taken when selecting the cleaning agent; generally, the use of chemicals with strong acidic or alkaline properties is not recommended. A neutral cleaning agent is advised, and the surface must be wiped clean with fresh water after each application.
