Basic Overview of Fiberglass Ceiling Panels

Fiberglass ceiling panels are decorative, layered interior finishing materials primarily composed of fiberglass. They are manufactured through processes such as fiber drawing, mat formation, hot pressing, and lamination with non-woven fiberglass mats, followed by heat treatment, coating, cutting, and edge finishing. These panels offer excellent full-frequency sound absorption, effectively reducing indoor reverberation. Their surfaces undergo special treatment to provide stain, moisture, and mold resistance, while achieving a Class A fire rating. The panels are lightweight and thin-with an areal density of approximately 2.0 kg/m²-and feature a simple structure that allows for easy installation. They are suitable for sound-absorbing ceiling applications in venues such as sports arenas, exhibition halls, large shopping malls, and high-noise industrial facilities.

Manufacturing processes include heat treatment, coating, cutting, and edge finishing-or alternatively, dry processing and high-pressure molding-with the surface finished using special coatings applied over a fiberglass mat composite. They are primarily used for sound-absorbing and decorative ceilings in building interiors.
